5 St James’s Square – A Reintroduction to a Landmark Address

We’re pleased to announce that Ashwell London has been solely appointed to let the ground floor of 5 St James’s Square, an exceptional office space in one of London’s most prestigious addresses.

This marks a fresh chapter for the building. With a brand-new reception area (CGI images shown) designed to feel smart, elegant and quietly impressive, the space is being repositioned with a clear focus: timeless quality, heritage character, and an unmistakable sense of status.

The ground floor suite totals 1,686 sq ft, offering premium, self-contained workspace with views over St James’s Square. It’s refined and characterful — ideal for businesses who want to align their brand with one of the capital’s most exclusive postcodes.

5 St James’s Square is a Grade II* listed building, originally built between 1748 and 1751 by architect Matthew Brettingham the Elder for William Wentworth, 2nd Earl of Strafford. Updated in the 19th century with a Portland stone façade and an additional storey, it remains one of the finest period buildings on the square today.

Positioned on the north-east corner of St James’s Square, the location speaks for itself, moments from Mayfair, Green Park and Pall Mall, surrounded by world-class dining, private clubs and international HQs.

This launch is more than just a building— it is a reintroduction to a landmark building, ready to welcome its next chapter.
